The butted seam is the seam of choice for the endwise joining of piece goods.
The RevoŽ R-20HDX is a single needle, single thread piece-end joining sewing machine. It is designed for secondary joining by sewing together the ends of all kinds of materials such as fabric rolls and felt type products (before processing in Dyeing and Printing works) and even on the heaviest carpeting with thick backing.
It is ideal for tear proof joining of piece ends with an up to 28mm (1 1/8 inch) wide single thread overedge seam, specially suited for light to medium loosely woven fabrics which fray out easily. The machine can also be adjusted for butt seaming with a small gap between the ends or with a slight overlap.
The R-20HDX is used primarily in the carpet industry to sew primary backing before tufting. The seam made can be tufted over at full speed. The seam is strong enough to be left in the carpet through all manufacturing processes thus reducing waste from trimming and sewing again at each manufacturing stage.
